Festival Ascension Flamenca

The 16. edition of the flamenco festival organized by the Ascension Flamenca association in Banyuls-sur-Mer was an exceptional event.
For three days, from May 14 to 16, 2026, Banyuls came alive to the rhythm of guitars, flamenco singing, and dancing,
featuring artists from France and Spain.
TEKAMELI
TEKAMELI means “I love you” in Caló, the ancient language of the Spanish Romani people.
This sums up the message this extraordinary group wants to convey; their music holds a special place because it expresses what truly matters: the joy and fun found in festivals and countless parties.

El Chino y El Tete
Sebastián Fernández, known as“El Chino,” is a prominent flamenco dancer born in 2007 in the Sant Roc neighborhood of Badalona.
Coming from a Romani family with a deep-rooted flamenco tradition, he is the younger brother of the famous flamenco dancer Ricardo Fernández, known as “El Tete.”
Ricardo Fernández "El Tete" displays a passion and innate talent for flamenco dance.
At just 22 years old, he has already performed alongside renowned artists, cementing his place in the world of flamenco.

Rebeca Monasterio y Carlos Carbonell
Rebeca Monasterio García was born in Barcelona and began her journey into the art of flamenco at the age of 7 in the flamenco clubs of her neighborhood, Sant Ildefons, in Cornellà de Llobregat. Shortly thereafter, she furthered her training under renowned artists such as Antonio Canales, Juan de Juan, Farruquito, and La Chana
For years, she has combined her work on stage with her teaching career, having founded her own flamenco school in Tarragona and Barcelona, where she trains and launches new talent in Catalonia.
Carlos Carbonell studied Spanish dance and flamenco alongside artists such as Israel Galván, Alejandro Granados, Mario Maya, Antonio Canales, Eva La Yerbabuena, Manolete, Antonio and Manuel Reyes, Fernando Romero, and others.
He studied drama with Antonio Estrada in Chiclana de la Frontera.
In Cádiz, he took theater classes with Manuel Morón El Moro, and also received instruction in contemporary dance and singing in Barcelona.

DJ Lisa Del Cristo
Lisa is a DJ who specializes in Spanish music, but she’s also a gypsy flamenco dancer!
In her performances, she blends electronic music with flamenco and Latin rhythms, as well as “el baile”
